Where PAS should be?

In NSTP 1/5/2011, Najib has urged PAS to break away from the lose Pakatan Rakyat coalition, citing that the coalition has done more damage to PAS rather than allowing PAS tu uphold to their Islamic cause. What Najib is saying is the fact that happens to PAS. Rakyat perceives PAS as a follower rather a leader in Pakatan. However the only Party in Pakatan that has a lot of grassroots and manpower is PAS. In many cases PAS could not have their own say. In fact, they have to wait for some sort of approval from both DAP and PKR.

So where PAS should be? Should PAS rejoin BN or should PAS be a loner. In my opinion I would rather see PAS as a major opposition. Throughout history, PAS has never contested enough seat to form a goverment, while UMNO has maintaned at least more than 55% candidates. Therefore, why vote for PAS because they will never form a government even if they won all seats.

However, if PAS is the official opposition, PAS should function as a check and balance to UMNO, so that the needs for Islam will never be challenged by anyone. We have seen in Malaysia that the only way to have a prosperity governement is to ensure that UMNO remains in power. In UMNO the needs for all the people are cared, no one is left behind. But the same thing would never be achieved in a DAP and PKR led government. These parties are biased towards the needs of their own rather than the people.

DAP in BN?

Is this some kind of a joke? I heard many times from my buddies that Harakah is an expert in defamation, and I guess that is probably true with this kind of news being reported, citing only "a reliable source" which could be fabricated. As Zahid Hamidi states in Utusan (29/4/2011), UMNO is not interested in forming an alliance with DAP, instead they are more interested in PAS.
Although the current situation doesn't look so well with MCA and Gerakan, UMNO as a Malay dominant party and just like any Malay would do, will never turn back to the friends that have been in this arena for better or worst. "Treachery" is not and will never be a part of a Malay, and those who practice this will never succeed in the long run.

Insurance agents .. saleperson or nuisance

Many times I have encountered with the so called "agents". Sometimes it was hard to distinguished in which category they belonged to, but one thing is clear I am very annoyed with these people. I believe, if you want to sell something, just say it straight forward. You may begin with "I am an insurance agent, would you like to register with us?" ... or you can say "Are you interested in insurance products, I have lots of them if you like ...."   but most of these people are working such that they are selling the one thing that you must have and you are stupid if you don't have them, or if you already have it, why not add some more packages  ... "I really, really hate it when these people are coming, knocking on my door and say "could you spare a few minutes, I would like to explain this, this, and that and bla bla bla ....". Whether life insurance, unit trust, etc, these products are good, and there are of course some pros and cons. But, please insurance agents, change your approach technique. Be a professional not a beggar or worst a nuisance.

Tun Tan Siew Sin and Tun V.T. Sambathan

An interesting article from Utusan Malaysia (31/5/2009):

On the verge that the political scenario could become worst, similar things did happen long ago during the May 13th 1969 tragedy.

Melayu dikhianati?

Omega Watch

Switzerland is a country that produces a number of high class items, from watches to banking services. Omega watches, for example, are produced by Omega SA. The Omega watches are considered luxurious. Therefore, no wonder the rich and famous prefers this brand.

In Malaysia, the brand Omega is made famous by the "Anwar Ibrahim China doll" video scandal. Recently I notice that Omega commercial - featuring Nicole Kidman - is aired more frequently in AXN-Asia channel ... it could be my own perception, or may be Malaysia has now become a potential market for Omega Watches.

By the way, keep one asking "where is the Omega watch" to Anwar ... wonder what will happen next?
